French Toast is a great way to start your day! It’s quick, easy and won’t take much of your time. French Toast is also referred to as Eggy Bread or Gypsy Toast! It’s also a great starter for Iftar during Ramadan.

Ingredients

180ml Milk
3 Eggs
Bread (I used tiger bread which I prefer for French Toast but you can use normal bread or brioche)
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Cinnamon (optional, I don’t like cinnamon so I didn’t add any)
Pinch of Salt
Little bit of butter or oil for the pan
Icing Sugar, Maple Syrup, Blueberries & Strawberries to serve

Method

Firstly make a custard by placing the eggs into a bowl then whisk, add the milk, vanilla extract and salt and whisk together. Add a little butter or oil to the pan, dip the bread one at a time in the custard and make sure you don’t over soak the bread so it doesn’t become too soggy. Place the bread in the pan and flip over after about a minute or so, you’ll find it’s golden. Repeat the same with the rest of the bread. You can add more than one bread into the pan at the time depending on the size. Once it’s all done, serve with maple syrup, icing sugar, blueberries and strawberries. This can also be served with whipped cream and so many other spreads depending on preference. Bon Appétit!!!! 😉
