Asian Steamed Sea Bass On A Bed Of Fluffy White Rice

I am not a big fan of fish but Sea Bass is definitely one of my favourites. It’s very tasty and easy to cook. Here’s an Asian Recipe I’ve been doing for a long time inspired by Jamie Oliver.


1 Whole Sea Bass (Descaled and cleaned by the fish monger)
1 Bunch Fresh Coriander Finely Chopped
3 Spring Onions
1 Thumb Sized Piece Ginger, Peeled and Chopped
1 or 2 Chilli’s (Optional)
Salt (To your taste)
1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
1 Lemon


Firstly wash the fish with ½ a lemon and score on both sides then squeeze the other half of the lemon over the fish. Add all the ingredients to a food processor and blitz. Use a pastry brush or spoon to add the marinade into the slits and all over the fish. Wrap in foil and place in a steamer for 20-30 minutes. If you’re steaming in the oven, place on a steamer tray and fill a pot with about a litre of water, place underneath the tray and and steam for about 25-30 minutes. Serve on a bed of fluffy white rice and garnish with chilli flakes and fresh coriander. Bon Appétit!!!!
